Desuru - 4 Jun to 5 Jun 2011

Back from our first self drive family trip to Desaru. I must say we are really lucky people as just one day after we came back from Desaru, Malaysia introduce a new system called biometric system which required everyone to scan their fingerpoint at the checkpoint and I heard people are struck in the jam for almost 5-7 hours. I can't imagine if I'm struck once again (after the probia I had in JB) I think I seriously will not drink a single drop of water one day before i go Malaysia.

We proceed to Desaru using the first link to avoid all the toll charges & also because its nearer to Desaru. Thanks to Jasmine who took the effort to drive there beforehand to find out more about the route & confirm the dinner at the firefly. We had our breakfast at Mac not long after we passed the JB custom. After breakfast, we proceed to our first visiting at Crocodile Farm. As this is my first visit to such farms, I'm surprised to see the divider between the Crocodile & us, the humans are actually quite low, therefore I'm afraid to get close to them. Unlike the kids, so daring, putting their head over the divider. Maybe the older you get, the timid you become.

After this farm, we moved on to another farm but this time is a more peaceful farm to me (at least that's what I thought so) I'm glad we actually went to Desaru Fruit farm as Singapore don't have such places & even if we do, it will not be that big. Singapore got limited space! I can see the kids enjoyed themselves & I did too till we reached the mini animal farm. I was thinking why is there a mini animal farm inside the fruit farm? But lucky the animals are either locked or placed at a high high stand and they will not jump down.

We had a late lunch around 3pm as an unexpected rain came along during the fruit farm as a result we waited almost an hour for it to stop. By the time the food came, everyone started eating & talk less.. can see they are very hungry. ha ha! But that doesn't stop Dear from snapping pictures of the food & me trying to get food for her. That silly gal only know how to take for people and not herself. As everyone is quite tired after the late lunch, we decided to skip the Ostrich Farm & check in at the resort. The travelling time to the resort was pretty far so everyone slept halfway thr the journey. The check in time took us around 30mins as its crowded due to Malaysia public holiday. Overall its a nice big resort. The building looks a bit like disney castle. Ha ha.. maybe i'm missing disneyland so having weird imagination. As Dear & I took a queen size bedroom therefore our room had a balcony and from there, we have a pool view. Nice! Not long later, everyone assembled at the lift to proceed to everyone's (more to the kids) favourite- Firefly Valley Leisure Park.

As we just had lunch 2hours ago therefore we decided to roam around the Park before going for dinner (in Firefly Valley too) I could say although the set dinner prepared is just for 10 pax & total there's 15 of us but its more than enough, thanks for Jasmine for adding on another 1 BBQ set for 6 pax :) The kids are bugging the adults when can they go to see firefly once they are finished with their dinner & the poor adults got to finish the food fast. Ha ha! Well its my first time seeing the firefly too so I'm equally excited. No touchlight are allowed during the tour so we just got to walk really slowly & carefully to prevent falling down. I felt if the fireflies were closer to us, at least we can see them better instead of just flying around the trees & it look like mini light bulb. Luckily JF managed to catch a few & placed them in a fish tank, then that's when I finally feel "oh that's how a firefly look like"The night ends around 10pm & all of us (at least for me) energy was drained up upon back to resort. Totally knocked out after bath. Side note: My silly poor dear bath in cold water as she didn't know Blue stands for cold & Red stands for hot!! Dear, now you know ok.. rem, ask me if you are unsure.

We spend our time in the resort the next day before check out fully utilizing their facilities. Breakfast was quite disappointing as many dishes were gone when we reached the cafe. To cover back the disappointment, water theme park was great & this is the first time we go swimming together. But too bad due to the bad weather, we missed the sea sports/water games. Maybe we will visit this place again but this time spent the day at the resort instead of going to all the farms. All in all, I really enjoyed this family trip. Hope there's more to come every year & I'm still invited. :)
