Cameron Highland - 30 Apr to 2 May 2011
Monday, 2 May 2011
Here we go... to another country via coach. I guess we both agreed that this is the first time (and last time) we ever travel on bus for such long hours. The whole journey took us almost 10 hours. Thanks to Jiefu, we got free ride from Jasmine's place to Golden Mile. The bus departed at 6am and every 1.5 or 2hrs, it will stop for us to take a break or for those like me who need to to go to toilet almost 2 hrs?? Breakfast was at JB, a little further from 2nd link. Although it was only 9am but we ordered wanton mee and there's no leftover. Wow are we really hungry or the food is simply nice? I vote for both. Sleep is what everyone do on bus after heavy breakfast but surprising after 3hrs, we had lunch. Dear & I ordered chicken rice.. okok I admit I force her to eat but in the end she shared half with Jasmine. Around 5pm, we finally reached Cameron Highland, our first stop is to visit a small strawberry farm - Green View Garden. Indeed, the weather there was cooling and I loved it. We started taking pictures of all flowers & strawberries. Jasmine start her shopping for snacks while me & dear just look around. Next we proceed to a mini wet market near our dinner place. Although dinner is just in another 30mins but the sweet corn look simply too hard to resist. I shared a cup corn with dear while Glendon & Gladys each ate one. Beside food, we also bought some magnets for friends. Dinner was at Strawberry View restaurant, as we are travelling by package and there's a total of 22 people. We are split into 2 tables. We had a total of 7 dishes for each table. Honestly.. I'm not full but maybe i can sneak back here at night to grab another sweetcorn. That's what i thought at that time. Our last stop for the day.. Hotel Equatorial to check in. Nothing special about the room except there's no aircon. The weather there is their aircon but not sure if it's a good thing cos I'm cold and I can't switch it off. Lolz! We decided to explore outside the hotel which is back to the wet market which we went earlier on. I was happily walking there thinking about sweetcorn when happiness change to disappointment! Their so called wet market closes at 7pm plus to 8pm. :( no sweetcorn means no supper for me. But luckily we still got a small coffe shop that sells roti prata.
Woke up at 6.15am to get ready before we meet for breakfast at 7am. Thanks dear for waking up first to warm the toilet and water! Did I mention that I love buffet breakfast as there's always my favourite porriage. First stop in Day 2 started off with Rose Valley, it's a farm filled with different kind of flowers. First time seeing some rare flowers like Stingray fish flower, Green rose. Done with flowers and off we set to Honey Bee farm for a 1hour. I like drinking honey water but doesn't mean I like bees. Luckily this is just a 45mins tour before we proceed on to another larger strawberry farm. When we know we got to pay to pruck strawberries, we opt out and walked around before the time to assemble. We, the gals decided to pay RM5 to Galeria Time Tunnel to pass time. Glad we make the right move as there's a variety of old stuffs which can't be found anymore. Time for lunch at supposely 12plus but the long traffic jam delayed our schedule and we took lunch at 1plus 2 at a Nonya restaurant near the city area. I guess everyone is starving cos food is swept off quickly once it's placed on our table. It started raining halfway through our lunch so all of us got to bring umbrella to our next stop, Tea Plantation. As its raining so we can't walk around but stay in the shop. Cactus Valley is our next stop, also the first time seeing many many kind of cactus. Beside cactus, they also have flowers but compare to rose valley, its a smaller scale. Soon its time for our streamboat dinner but before that, we went to their basa malam. Seriously going to basa malam during raining is a troublesome. I want to eat sweetcorn and need to hold umbrella too. So in the end, decided to just walk in the rain. Dear bought me a present... transparent printed with strawberries umbrella! I loved it. Dinner at Restaurant Country Lodge.. had a few rounds of Tom Yam soup as the weather is cold after raining. Indeed the vegetable is fresh in Cameron Highland but I still prefer meat. Back to the hotel, we had a little birthday surprise for Jasmine. Jiefu bought a strawberry "cake" for her at Green View Garden on first day. So sweet! Dear & Glendon went lobby for a few games of pool while me resting in room as I'm super tired.
Woke up around 6am but this time woke up with dear :) Had the same breakfast as yesterday till 7.30am, all of us went to our room for final packing & ready for check out. The bus depart hotel at 8am and left Cameron Highland to our last stop, Visiting temples at Ipoh. It took us around 2hrs to reach there and we left there at 11am before we proceed for our lunch. Back to the bus after lunch, travelled for 2hrs to stopover and another 2hours plus for our last dinner for this trip. Dinner was great, I think everyone enjoyed the dishes, mainly were seafood. After dinner, finally we are heading back to Singapore :) Everyone was fast during custom therefore we reach singapore around 9pm. Thanks Jiefu for fetching me home & of course dear for bringing me to Cameron Highland.
