the ndp 2011 (ne show 3) episode!

so here comes the big thing of the whole day (23 july)! the ndp 2011 (^ne show 3)!
^these are 'full dress rehearsals' watched by primary 5 students as part of their national education programme.
the tickets came unexpectedly, when rachel asked if i want to watch it only on friday evening. she did approached me on the tickets initally, but i thought its for the preview ndp, which we already booked the mbs room. but only on friday evening, i realised that it's for this saturday, and seems like no one wants the tickets, i decided to go for it.
approached sis jas if she wanna go along, since it's a total of 4 tickets, but she got some celebration for glendon's bday. and hence, we decided to ask mama G if she wants to go with her hubby. she was pretty elated as it's her first time watching ndp, and so we found the owners of the other pair of tickets!
so on the day itself, we went to get the tickets from rachel at orchard cineleisure open carpark at around 3pm plus and made our way to the esplanade to meet mama G. however, she was stuck in marina square, so we walked there to meet her. but we parted shortly, as her hubby will only be reaching at 5pm plus, so me and dar decided to go in early to at least get some good seats.
it's been quite some years back since i saw a ndp, i think it roots back to poly days as an encounter being a ndp usher. and this is the first time i watch ndp on the float @ marina bay (floating platform near the esplanade). as for dar, she managed to get the tix for last year ndp as well, so maybe she might feel a lil bored, but she assure me that this year is different as it is watching with me! afterall, this is our first ndp together!! pretty eventful!!
indeed the seats and view we gotten was quite good (the pics will tell all).. the theme for ndp 2011 is Majulah! The Singapore Spirit. anyway, Majulah means "onwards!" well, i guess it represent a strive towards a better singapore, and at the same time, this word is linked to our national song.
there are five performance acts (present, birth, growing up, progress and majulah!)personally, all in all, i think the performance was relatively good, taking the concept of a musical. i love the cube by cube design on stage (alike the one in jay chou concert thou) and all kudos to the fireworks! totally awesome and breath-taking!! i enjoyed the scene of explosion of colours with balloons released into the sky, the bubbles blowing when the musical reached the under the sea stage, and i love being "trapped" in the red and white paper typhoon-alike experience!!
after which, we met up with mama G and her hubby for a good dinner at thai express before we headed home for a good night rest! =)
