trip to heart of asia - taiwan (part 3) : daxi, guanxi, taipei city
Thursday, 15 March 2012
as scheduled as one of the tour package, the driver drove us to ta shee blooming oasis (大溪花海農場)where there are beautiful fields of seasonal flowers and this was also the largest farm in northern taiwan. and furthermore, quite a number of taiwan fliming took place on this farm like 我的秘密花園2, 真情滿天下, and even jay chou (花海) MV was flimed here. anyway, despite the super super cold weather with the blowing winds, we managed to take a couple of pictures with the flowers and also the scenary.
shall leave the pictures to justify the beauty of the place.
the next destination was the leofu village theme park (六福村) at guanxi which was a huge disappointment. the park was made up of four theme, mainly the arabian kingdom, african safari, south pacific and wild west but in totality, the entire park was super run-down and the rides are for those little kids. in fact, me and darling did not try on any rides but we did have our lunch there. but the good thing is because the tour package only made up of two of us, we call the shot! we went to the customer service centre, borrowed a phone and rang the driver up to bring us to the next attraction.
back to around taipei main station, the driver aligned us at Q square shopping mall (京站時尚廣場). it was known as one of the latest addition to the taiwan shopping mall and darling managed to find the shoes boutique that she/her sis saw it on one of the magazine in singapore. in summary, her damage was two pairs of shoes (one for her sis), and we had a tiff over it. in fact, this darling actually left me in the mall, and did not bother to look me up. =( eventually, i left to meet up with the driver, and saw that she is already on ground floor. =(
i always think in any cases, especially when overseas, we should take care of each other, and not juz dump down one one another. what if i really got kidnap away, or we really lost each other? =(
anyway, dinner was at five cent driftwood restaurant (伍角船板). the driver aka guide told us that it is a female owner, and she was a designer. so one day, she went to this beach, and found a five cent on a piece of driftwood, and got this idea of setting up this restaurant. i dunno how true in this story, but its indeed a restaurant with very unique interior and exterior design. moreover, their food are quite good too. however, the guide told us if we are to come on our own, it will require reservation to be made, as they are always full-house.
after dinner, it was free and easy as scheduled, hence we asked the driver to drive us to shida night market (師大路夜市). this night market was recommended by one of the driver in wulai. indeed darling felt that the night market suit her "taste" and the items here are alot more cheaper (as it was suited near a university, so the target audience was the students) and managed to find a couple of loots. we believe that if we come in summer, she could have bring back a big bag of loots. so how about travelling to taiwan again in summer? =p
