Dear's Birthday Getaway - 23rd - 24th Jun 2012

Once again, it's our short getaway trip. Unlike previous trip, it's just for us to have sometime alone outside Singapore but this time, there's a purpose...it's to celebrate my Dear's birthday. I supposed to keep it a secret but once again, I just can't keep the excitement so I decided to give her some hint bit by bit till in the end, she knew everything. I must must remain calm next time if I ever want to give her another surprise. As mentioned, unlike previous trips, supposingly to be 2 of us, but our fans or stalker (that's how MC called them) decided to follow us when they found out that I'm going Bintan.
As I only decided to plan this trip last min, therefore my first choice resort was full at that point. However after making some research, Bintan Lagoon was the next best choice. I have to admit the price compare to Batam was higher but as we have been there before, therefore money is not an issue when it comes to spend on my love :) Afterall, she never been there before. My first trip there was with Cham and Vinnie and my memory for Bintan was the beach is clean and the massage was the best so far. Although the resort is different but I guess the difference will not be that big.
We departed from Sin to Bintan at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. This time I didn't took the earlier time slot as we have final theory test in the morning. Sad that Dear didn't make it but it's a miracle that I've passed. I guess it's my present to her too :) *By the way, when is my Dear going to retake her test? I'm always telling people and her, if I'm the one who failed, she sure will nag me to retake. Oops, she's going to kill me when she sees this.
I may have over estimated the working speed of Bintan people as the check in time should be 3pm but upon arrival at the custom, there's only 3 counters open and it took us almost 30mins to pass through therefore when we reach the resort, it's already pass 3pm and our room's not ready. When everything is done, it's already pass 4pm and the water sports closed at 5.30pm which left us not much activities to do after dinner. However before dinner, we went to claim our free games (Free when we signed up as their member) which is playing laser gun. It's something like paintball but no pain when you are hit. Quite enjoyed this game as I feel like running man, hiding and shooting people. To our surprised, Elaine is the winner and Dear is the worst. After playing, we took a stroll by the beach and snap quite a few pictures as there isn't many people, sky are clear and most importantly it's a clean beach.
I finally understand why Meiqi say dinner in Bintan is expensive as the meal cost us almost S$40 each. Luckily Dear brought along Monopoly card game so at least there's still some activitiy after dinner. But before we meet up in the room, I have a small surprise for my love. I sneak out halfway after Dear bath and went to collect the cake that I have ordered earlier during dinner. Dear was caught by the surprise cake and I'm glad there's something she finally don't know. Yeah!
As the first day we can't get to play any of the water sports therefore, we decided to wake up eariler, had our breakfast and head off to the beach. Glad we are the first batch to play Kayak, at least the life jacket are dry :) 4 of us shared the cost so total each paid less than S$10. Still affordable as other games in Bintan are much more expensive. We quickly finished up Kayaking and head for our next activity which is massaging.
I have to comment that Bintan Lagoon massage is not as good as the one I have been to in Bintan or Batam and the price is higher than Batam. Well, I guess nothing beats Port Dickson. I missed the scenary there. After massage, we went back to our room for a quick shower and proceed to check out. Our last lunch there was the same restaurant we had for our dinner. Another expensive meal and at least the serving matches the price. Overall, I enjoyed the trip as it's a quiet and peaceful one, unlike Singapore, a busy lifestyle. Hope Dear enjoyed this trip as much as I do and I'm sorry that there's stalker this time. I promise no more fans or stalker the next one. Hee Hee :)
