new hangouts..
Sunday, 30 September 2012

me and darling had tried out a couple of new hangouts over a weekend.

first was the porn's. sound real cheesy right, but don't get the wrong idea. it's a cafe that sell thai food that was opened by the mediacorp artist, pornsak! anyway the shop is situated right opposite bugis junction, and pretty convenient to be found. next, is the comments about the food. i would say it was quite a so-so, and the price is quite steep for its portion. darling had a good impression for the garlic fried chicken and the real spicy tom yam soup i suppose.

and the next day (sat), we went to the fullhouse singapore (lifestyle store and cafe) at hotel rendezvous. in fact, me and darling went gatecrash once and took the photos in the whole cafe (because we visited the clothes store inside the cafe). so this time round, we decided to come for the food. anyway surprisely the cafe was quite fully reserved despite it was quite a early evening when we arrived. the kind enough waitress eventually managed to put us to a table but with a 1hr time frame because our table was reserved too.

well, the food was not bad, but it will be better if we wasn't given the time limit, so we don't have to rush and gobbled down the food. lesson learnt - please make reservation. all in all, we were given a 15% discount with uob card but the tab still hit early 50bucks. but we are happy for the nice pictures took inside the cafe!

and on sunday, I decided to bring darling to a ulu place, holland village (bukit timah). we travelled through the smrt circle line and took a bus to this blk 18 where we aligned. and with some lost of way, we finally reached this shop called the nook (house of pancakes). basically, it was a newly opened shop on aug and its a shop where u can diy your own pancakes!!

so a set for two will cost 28bucks, and u can choose 2 pancake batter (flavor like original, pandan, choco etc), 3 toppings (m&m's, nuts, biscuit etc), 2 set of margarine and maple syrup. the batter will come in the form of jars, but they will provide the squeezer bottle for you to pour your batter in and make designs on the hot pans. seriously, me and dar had fun playing and creating designs, and i love the quiet atmosphere (no crowd as its not accessible). surprisely we can't finish the two jars (look small) of batter (make into pancakes)!!
