cny 2013! huat ah!

chinese new year celebration is here again.. this year was kinda of special because this is the first time darling's mum aka my mother in law asked me to join them for the family reunion dinner. anyway, even both her cousins and their mum (her youngest aunt), and philip's sis, cherie are all being invited. hence with the amount of people around, the reunion dinner was like a mini buffet line, take your own food and go find a seat in front of the tv. lols.
well, on the afternoon of actual cny eve, we decided to go to chinatown to experience the festival atmosphere, however i would say is either the biz too good and most of the stalls had closed, or as the years goes by, the event scale is getting smaller. however, we still managed to get the rare china paper cutting which darling wanted it so much... at night, we also went back to yishun to eat reunion dinner with my mum. sis bought john back for the first time, and darling get to see her precious mei mei as bro family came over too.
next, was our hongbao for each other... hehe. i would say both of us took some effort to find dollar with the special number of ours, 2326. however, it seems like i put more 'heart' to find.. as all my different dollar demoination end with either 23 or 26. yay!
and it seems like lady luck is indeed with us in the year of snake! we striked lottery on this very first day of cny, at the starter prize. huat ah! and this is a newly created number that we only bet once. it was created with our age of this year -3329.
and we had nothing much on cny day2, we decided to go to this sentosa flowers event that was held annually during cny and fulfilled sunnie baby's wish to go sentosa beach! not a bad experience, we had our first walk on the sentosa broadway and we had a great time cam-whoring with all the snake and vday decorations. and big thanks to the great weather, as it had been raining cats and dogs almost evey day, but on that particular day, everything was pretty well (aparts from those hei hei and ah-tiongs).
last but not least, on cny day3, we visited both my eldest sis (jasmine) and her sis (abby)'s houses for lunch and dinner respectively. common point for both - steamboat-ing!!!
