garden by the bay (11 may & 15 may)
Saturday, 18 May 2013
for once, we decided to act like tourists again, by visiting the newly opened attraction in this sinkapore (not too new, but because we didnt want to squeeze with many others, hence we will venture it now!) and the next reason i wanna bring darling there now, was because they are having this tulipmania event, which is also the largest tulip-themed floral show ever to be held in Singapore.
in fact, the blooms flown in directly from netherlands by klm royal dutch Airlines, and there is this spectacular display of 20,000 tulips in a vibrant myriad of spring colours such as red, pink, yellow, white and purple.
anyway, we had also became friends of the gardens, by purchasing the annual pass which we think its pretty worth it. and instantly, we knew we made the right choice, as the tulips wasnt fully bloomed in our first visit (11 may), and with the pass, we can enter the gardens again anytime we want, which we choosed 15 may, given a 4-day grace for the tulips to bloom and of course before we set off to korea on 18 may, as the tulipmania event end on 20 may.
well, indeed its a pleasant place (darling love it because its airconditioned), there is a little piece of look-alike netherlands in this flower dome. the sight of flower fields was very attractive when the tulips are in full bloom.
beside that, we also visited the cloud forest which is a cool-moist conservatory, that welcome the vistors with a 35-metre tall mountain covered in lush vegetation shrouding the world’s tallest indoor waterfall showcases plant life from tropical highlands up to 2,000-metres above sea level.
we then took the lift up before descending via two walkways in the clouds for an aerial view of the canopy and mountainside below. in fact, it was really high and pretty scary doing the walkways. there is also some education corners in this conservatory, but me and darling wasnt paying lotsa of attention to it.
for now, we have not had enough time to explore the ocbc skyway, a 128-metre long walkway that connects the two 25-metre supertrees at the supertree grove, and take in a different view of the gardens. hence, we will definitely back to the gardens someday!
