Her 29th birthday celebration

It has been awhile since we stayed in Singapore Hotel therefore I decided to book a night at one of the newest hotel "Parkroyal @ Pickering" near central to celebrate her birthday and the second reason was also my silly dear gave me a surprise by treating me to a show called "Stomp'13". I managed to keep the secret of where we are staying till we board the cab.. no choice, taxi driver must know where we are going! I guess Dear was wondering why aren't we going to W hotel... well I'm keeping it for you to bring me.. hahaha! Overall, it was a great stay at the hotel. As it was designed to be a Hotel-in-a-garden concept that focuses on integrating environmental principles and elements of nature throughout, our room soft colour hues create a calm & restful environment and elemental wood, stone finishes lend an organic feel, hence it gave us a day off from the busy stressful city thou we are right in the middle of it.


Planning her actual birthday celebration is not that easy too as Singapore has limited places to go and to find one that we didn't go before makes it even more difficult. I decided to settle lunch at one of the recommend places called "Sushi Airways". It's Singapore’s first aircraft themed restaurant and I guess it's quite unique and location wise is still accessible that's why I chose there. Overall, our comments are guess it's the first and last time we will visit there :( Reason being food wise is a so so and not much variety too. The only plus point is it's a quiet place so we can have all the time there for my dear to open her present and they will serve you complimentary birthday cake. Talking about the present, it's quite a stupid idea of letting her read the card first as dumb me wrote what present I'm giving her before she guessed it. So it's not a surprised birthday gift anymore :( Actually I have been lying to her all the time that it's not a camera and I even wrapped up in a way that she can't imagine but too bad.. my bad! I guess she like her present as I think it's time to say goodbye to the old one and here we come.. more clearer, sharper pictures!



After lunch, we took a walk at Haji Lane, Orchard before we proceed to the next surprise.. venue for dinner! Also thinking real hard on where to bring her for a nice cosy dinner. I did once remember she mentioned about someone going to this place and she wanted to try but I guess she has forgotten about it. So I booked early and also requested to have the table by the window side plus a small surprise. She's been asking where are we going for dinner since 5plus and glad it's another place she's didn't expect till we reach Ion. It's our first visit to Salt grill & Sky Bar located at 56th floor, being the highest point on Orchard Road. As we start dinner early therefore not many people are there which enable us to snap a few pictures around and also the day view of Orchard before it turns dark. We quite enjoyed the dinner as it's consider a romantic place that served delicious Australian cuisine. As we were about to finish, the waitress serve Dear a small birthday cake or should I say a scoop of ice cream. I guess it's quite an unique idea of serving ice cream instead of cake as it's just nice for one person. Reason for being surprise was I did request for a birthday cake or if it's possible to bring along one but their rule is I have to top up. Seeing that it's a waste to buy the whole cake when she's the only one who's going to eat it, I decided that there will not be any cake during dinner time. I hope Dear enjoyed the day as much as I do and I promise I will do even better especially when she turn 30 next year. Guess I have to start planning now... love you always Dear!
