penang trip... 26th to 28th oct
Wednesday, 30 October 2013

penang aka the pearl of orient had always been on our travel list, as darling had always wanted to go to georgetown where it was famous for all the street arts and mural painting (one of the famous artist is ernest zacharevic that resided in penang, that explains why most of his artworks is in georgetown) (ps. one of the famous work is also the minions!)

another attractive part of penang was the food delicacy, the famous assam laksa, ice chendol, wanton mee, duck koay chap, char koay teow, hokkien mee, rojak pasembur (like wu xiang, ngo-hiang) and they even have lok-lok!

apart from the arts and food, i am also interested in the vast existences of culture buildings which means that i can take tons of nice peektures (we visited khoo kongsi temple, cheah kongsi temple, penang hill and even a guided tour of cheong fatt tze mansion etc)

on top of all these, we also had one of the most interesting stay in a heritage boutique hotel (campbell house), which have a layout of the opium room. some of the ppl might find it eerie, but somehow i thought if you go places like penang, you should really invest and stay in such boutique hotel to have a feel out of it. and the receptionists are really helpful, gave us a mini briefing of penang when we arrived.

in fact, i am really proud that we can covered most of the places we wanted to cover, and just by exploring around despite the super hot weather (although it is not as hot as cambodia). although we always had some small bickers here and there, i guess it is just part of the overseas trips. and i certainly look forward to going penang again as i havent try the curry mee!!! hahaha...
